The Commonwealth Bank has moved to allay customer fears over Internet banking security after claims its online accounts could be accessed by hackers.
Bank spokeswoman Bernadette Fifield said yesterday the bank was investigating the claims, but stressed no accounts had been illegally accessed and customers' money was safe.
``We take these matters very seriously and we are currently investigating them," she told ABC radio.
``Our customers' money is safe and we have strong commitments to our customers, which we stand by."
Ms Fifield said no accounts at the bank had been accessed by hackers.
``Our accounts have not been accessed. Our accounts have not been hacked," she said.
Sydney man David Williams said late on Wednesday he had stumbled on what he believed was a flaw in the bank's QuickLine service six months ago.
